Barham Club Practice

Are you competing under the Barham banner?

With over a 100 members, and many of you with active competition licences  there’s always events that we won’t get to see. So please if your competing and have a couple of pictures of said action, please send a copy to us at, with name, and what the event was and date. (Can be past or present) - We’ll try and use them on the web site and newsletter……who knows they may even get into the next archive update!

Want to have a go at being an observer?

Would you like to have a go at observing, or helping to at one of our Trials?

You don’t need to be a club member but if you’d like to have a go and help make the days possible, simply drop us a mail by clicking here and give us your contact details, we’ll get back to you to as quickly as we can.

If you’ve never done it before don’t worry, we can team you up with an experienced observer to show you the ropes and make sure you’re comfortable with the rules.

We can’t guarantee that there would always be a section available to observe but you would be contacted before an event to see if you’d like to observe. Go on you know you want to!

Riders, did you know you can renew your ACU licence on line now?

Westonzoyland Sprint

Amandas’ final meeting was down in cider drinking country! With a 5 hour drive to get there you do want to have a good day.

So exploding your clutch through the casing isn’t ideal, but with fine work from her pit crew (Tim!) The clutch was reassembled and the remnants of the casing stitched back together using Duct tape she finished the meeting and the season with a running bike  and put in a best time of 16.648 secs with a speed of 82.79mph

Mutton Lancers Trial

Some great weather for the day bought 60+ riders out to the Mutton Lancers Trial. Sections were as always tricky with some proving trickier than others. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the day.

Thanks to all the observers as always as well as the land owners for allowing us to use it and all those who give up their time freely to clear out sections etc. It is greatly appreciated.

Finally a thank you to BRM Catering for coming along and providing refreshments

ACU Announcement Update

Covid-19 Update

In light of recent developments in the COVID-19 crisis, and following the address to the nation by the Prime Minister on the evening of 23rd March, the Auto-Cycle Union has today extended its suspension of all organising permits for motorcycle events until at least 31st May, but this will be constantly reviewed.

This move provides clear guidance to event organisers, clubs, venues, competitors, officials of the role that the Auto-Cycle Union  must play in supporting the broader UK public health agenda.

Auto-Cycle Union Chairman, Roy Humphrey explained, “The government have required that we effectively lock-down for a period of three weeks, however given that the most vulnerable in our society are required to isolate for three months, we feel it only sensible to propose a longer suspension for all motorcycle sport.  This is a time of national unity and we need to come together with the broader public community to do all we can to support this battle and ultimately save lives.

This means that our Nailbourne Non Experts and Combine trial at the beginning of April are now cancelled.
